Breakfast Cereals and Oats

Slow Cooker, Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats ~ High in Protein and Fiber

Coat slow cooker with oil. Add all ingredients, stir, cover, and cook on slow for 8 hours.

2 apples, peeled, cored, cut into ½ inch pieces

1 ½ cups almond, coconut or rice milk or just water

2 cups of water

1 cup uncooked steel cut oats

2 tbsp coconut sugar

½ tsp cinnamon and vanilla extract

2 tbsp ground flaxseed

For garnish: nuts, raisins, maple syrup

Bring water, amaranth, teff, and ground flax seeds to a boil, simmer at low for 20-30 minutes. Once done enjoy with cinnamon, coconut sugar, almonds, walnuts, hemp seeds, dried fruit, etc.

Makes 4 servings.

½ cup of amaranth

½ cup of teff

3 cups of water

1 tbsp ground flax seeds

1 tsp cinnamon
